Boswell came to Love A Stray when a local family found him alone in their yard with no apparent owner. Lucky to be found by caring people who didn't look the other way! He was so scared, extremely underweight and could not even meow. He was starving and we nursed him back to a healthy weight. This sweet boy battled his way back too, and is finding his way to being a happy boy. Boswell is a busy boy! He is social and loves to play! He reaches for you through his cage space and does not like it when you finish petting him!! Loves his toys. He is beginning to love being held. He hurries to the front of his cage space for attention when approached. He would sure love to have his very own home and alot of love and a family!! Proper introductions to a new home and family. Esmay came to Love A Stray after being left at a local Walmart and finding her way to the closest home and took shelter in a garage during the terrible August 6th storm. Esmay is a very sweet, social and playful kitten. She is coming around wonderfully from all that she went through. A little shy at first until she feels safe. Loves to be held and have attention! SunnySunny - Spayed Female. DOB is 9/1/2020. Sunny is current on her vaccines and has been tested for Feline Aids (FIV) and Feline Leukemia (FELV) and is Negative. Sunny is a SH Grey Tabby.
Sunny came to Love A Stray after being found in church parking lot in a local community and found her way into the church services. Sadly, it appeared Sunny had been abandoned and Love A Stray discovered that at some point she had a broken jaw and it had been repaired by a Vet and that the hardware wiring her jaw to heal, was still in place and needed to be removed. We made that happen and she is feeling better and starting to open up and show us her personality and loves that she has food and attention! Sunny is in a foster home now. Her foster Mom writes: Sunny was found on a Sunday, near our church where she promptly was greeted and invited to come in! She was so friendly and walked around visiting everyone. She has golden yellow eyes and very soft hair. She loves attention and likes to be cuddled. She easily adapted to our home and doesn't mind company. She does not care for other cats!! Dixie is in a foster home and her foster Mom writes: When I was first rescued I was a very spicy baby, but that didn’t last long. I very quickly learned that pets are awesome! People aren’t so bad and that being rescued is an amazing thing!! I love my cat toys and my kitty bed and my cat tree. I am very eager to explore and have been around other cats, I get along well with them. Oh, I have also been around a dog and I’m ok with that. He still makes me a little nervous but I am getting braver each time. I am really sweet and have recently learned that nap time with humans is also a really good thing. Honey came to Love A Stray with her sibling (Hazel) from a local rescue who took in 15 cats and kittens following a house fire in Cleveland. Love A Stray offered help with so many. The home was unlivable and the owner had to leave the cats behind. Many of Honey's family members were roaming the streets and were rescued, but some didn’t survive. Honey is in a foster home and her foster Mom writes: Honey had a rough start to life but she is a survivor and has such a wonderful personality! She’s sweet, fun, playful and very vocal! She gets along well with other cats, but is still unsure about dogs. Honey also has a sister Hazel up for adoption. The two are very close and would love to be adopted together. Blue was originally adopted as a kitten, from Love A Stray in 2013 and was in a home where she was very loved. Life changed when her former Mom had a child - that was allergic to her. They did everything they could to make it work. But the allergies were severe and Blue came back to Love A Stray. Blue knows her name and comes to you!! Edgar is a SH Black and White. Edgar came to Love A Stray with his Mom and 4 siblings after being found and rescued from a shed in a local community. (Siblings also available for adoption!!) All five of the kittens were raised in a foster home with exposure to other cats and a dog. Edgar is very close with his brother Elias. Anchovy was brought to Avon Lake Animal Clinic by a good samaritan, where he was treated for a really nasty double eye infection. He has recovered except for some minor changes to his left eye that do not affect his overall vision. He is being fostered in a home by one of his caretakers from the clinic. He loves playing with toys and running around the apartment, with cuddles or pets being reserved only for bedtime. He is a professional acrobat when playing with his favorite dangler toy and loves to play hide-and-seek (although he isn't very good at hiding sometimes). He loves to carry his toys around and will even bring them into bed if he feels you are going to sleep too early! Update from his Foster Mom: "Play hard, sleep hard" is Anchovy's motto. When he's not chasing his foster brother around, he's playing with his favorite sushi toy or zooming around like he's got somewhere important to be. He's gotten more adventurous as he's gotten bigger but he is still a little shy around new people. Once he gets to know you, you're just another person for him to wrestle with. He has not been around other cats (besides his foster brother) nor around large dogs, so it may take him time to get used to them. He's very talkative and gets mouthy when you tell him not to do something. Overall, he is a very very sweet boy who loves head and booty scratches. Dorian was rescued in a local neighborhood where a stray cat had a litter of kittens. All kittens from the same litter eventually found homes and Dorian is the last one who is still waiting for his forever home. He is being fostered in a home along with his foster brother (Anchovy). Dorian is very sweet and gentle but a shy boy. It takes him time to warm up to people but he is very affectionate once he does. Margot is a SH Brown Tabby. Margot was found outside in a local development in the fall of 2022 with her 3 kittens. LAS brought them all to our shelter. Our team went out and trapped her so that we could secure her and her kittens. She had been living there for sometime and everyone ignored her beautiful self. When she arrived, she was very scared and very protective of her babies. Thin and recovering from her lack of care. Her coat now looks wonderful and she has gained some weight as well. She has become sweet and social, playful and enjoying pets and attention. When you stop petting her, she reaches out with her paw to ask for more pets. She loves being paid attention too. Luciano was rescued by LAS after he was reported living and hiding in the shrubs all alone at a local BP station. He was seen for days by staff and reported to us.
