Approximate DOB: 6/15/2026 Flower is a spayed female who is current on her vaccines and has tested negative for Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV) and Feline Leukemia Virus (FeLV). She is a beautiful short-haired gray/black tabby and white kitten with a sweet and gentle personality. Flower is one very lucky little girl! This sweet kitten was found and rescued from the Ford Plant in Avon Lake—a very busy and dangerous place for a young kitten. Flower was alone, frightened, and incredibly hungry when she was discovered. Thankfully, she was rescued and brought to Love-A-Stray before something terrible could happen to her. She is now safe and getting the care, love, and patience she needs to grow into the happy kitten she was meant to be. You would never know what Flower went through by meeting her today. She is becoming a sweet and social little girl who loves to be held. She is still a bit shy, but she is gaining confidence every day and showing more of her personality as she learns that she is safe. Flower is social, but we believe she would do best in a home without very small children. It is unknown how she would do with dogs. NovaNova – Neutered Male
Approximate DOB: 2/24/2026 Nova is a neutered male who is current on his vaccines and has tested negative for Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV) and Feline Leukemia Virus (FeLV). He is a handsome short-haired brown tabby and white cat with a sweet and social personality. Nova came to Love-A-Stray (LAS) from a busy restaurant parking lot off Detroit Road in Avon. He had been hanging around the parking lot of Bar Nova for several weeks, which is how this handsome boy got his name! Customers and the restaurant owner had been keeping an eye on him, and we went out to help as soon as we learned Nova needed us. He was hungry and came right to us! It quickly became clear that this sweet boy was friendly, trusting, and more than ready to leave parking lot life behind. Nova is a friendly, sweet, and social boy who loves attention and enjoys being around people. He is happiest when he has people to interact with and plenty of affection to enjoy. While in his foster home, Nova had the opportunity to meet other cats and did well. We believe he could do well in a home with other cats as long as everyone is given the proper time and gradual introductions. It is unknown how Nova would do with dogs. Nova is ready for a safe, kind, loving forever home where he will never again have to worry about finding his next meal or navigating a busy parking lot. JosephinaJosephina – Female
Approximate DOB: 7/1/2026 Josephina is current on her vaccines and has tested NEGATIVE for Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV) and Feline Leukemia Virus (FeLV). She is an adorable short-haired brown tabby with a big personality and an unforgettable little bobtail! Josephina came to Love-A-Stray after a kind person in the community found her and reached out for help. She was all alone after her mother was tragically hit by a car, and Josephina had also suffered a badly broken tail. Josephina received prompt medical attention, and unfortunately, her tail could not be saved. It was amputated the very next day. She recovered wonderfully and hasn't let her short tail slow her down one bit! Today, Josephina is a happy, friendly, affectionate, and playful little girl. She loves to play, enjoys all of her toys, and absolutely loves attention! Her adorable little bobtail only adds to her charm and makes her even more special. Josephina is ready to put her difficult beginning behind her and start the next chapter of her life with a loving family of her own. It is unknown how she would do with dogs. As with any new adoption, she will need some time, patience, and understanding as she adjusts to her new home and family. ErnieErnie – Neutered Male
Approximate DOB: 5/18/2026 Ernie is a neutered male who is current on his vaccines and has tested NEGATIVE for Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV) and Feline Leukemia Virus (FeLV). He is a handsom short-haired gray/black tabby and white kitten with a sweet personality. Ernie came to Love-A-Stray (LAS) with four siblings as part of a project we took on in a local community where there were far too many cats and very few had been spayed or neutered. Ernie spent some time in a foster home and has now come to the shelter, where he is enjoying the company of other kittens. Ernie has come such a long way since he first arrived! He is a very sweet boy who enjoys playing and especially appreciates attention and affection. Getting that love and reassurance helps Ernie feel safe and comfortable. We think Ernie would do well in a home with other pets, especially another confident cat or kitten, with proper and gradual introductions. It is unknown how he would do with dogs. Ernie would likely do best in a quieter home without very young children. He will need time, patience, and understanding as he adjusts to his new home, family, and any other pets. Approximate DOB: 6/16/2026 Lily is a spayed female who is current on her vaccines and has tested negative for Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV) and Feline Leukemia Virus (FeLV). She is a beautiful short-haired black cat with a sweet and affectionate personality. Lily came to Love-A-Stray (LAS) from a Westlake neighborhood where our volunteers were working on a TNR (Trap-Neuter-Return) project. Most of the cats in the area were feral and were returned to their caregiver after being spayed or neutered. But Lily quickly showed us that she was something special—and much too sweet and social to return to a life outdoors! This beautiful girl deserves the chance to live safely indoors, where she will never again have to worry about the elements or the challenges of surviving outside. Lily is sweet, friendly, and affectionate and enjoys getting lots of attention. She also loves her toys! Once you get her purring, she will happily curl up in your lap and purr away for a long time. She is a wonderful little cuddle bug who would love to have someone of her own to adore. In her foster home, Lily has been exposed to other cats and has done well with proper introductions. With patience and gradual introductions, she may enjoy having a feline companion in her forever home. Lily has already proven that she was meant for a safe and loving indoor life. She is an adorable short-haired black tuxedo with a sweet personality and plenty of confidence! Simone came to Love-A-Stray (LAS) all alone after she was found by an LAS volunteer who was working on a TNR (Trap-Neuter-Return) project in a local community. She was a confident little girl who had been out on her own—small, unprotected, and in need of food, shelter, and kindness. Once she came into our care, good food, medical attention, safety, and lots of love put Simone on the path to becoming the social, playful, and happy girl she is today! Simone is very sweet, social, playful, and confident. She loves wand toys, tunnels, and pretty much any toy she can get her paws on! She also enjoys the company of other kittens she has been around. Approximate DOB: 5/25/2026 Trina is a spayed female who is current on her vaccines and has tested negative for Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV) and Feline Leukemia Virus (FeLV). She is an adorable short-haired brown tabby with a sweet personality to match! Trina came to Love-A-Stray (LAS) all alone after she was found by an LAS volunteer who was helping a neighbor with their yard. She was very small and in need of help, suffering from an upper respiratory infection and an eye infection. With good food, medical care, safety, and lots of love, Trina made a wonderful recovery and blossomed into the sweet, happy girl she is today! She does have a very slight wisp of a scar on one eye from the original infection, but it is barely noticeable. Trina is very sweet, social, playful, and confident. She loves wand toys, tunnels, and pretty much any toy she gets to play with! She also enjoys spending time with other kittens she has been around. Trina absolutely loves people and especially enjoys being held and getting lots of attention. We do not know how Trina would do with dogs at this time. CrystalCrystal – Spayed Female
Approximate DOB: 11/23/2023 Crystal is a spayed female who is current on her vaccines and has tested negative for Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV) and Feline Leukemia Virus (FeLV). Crystal is a beautiful medium-haired black cat with a gorgeous coat and an even more beautiful personality! Crystal came to Love-A-Stray after being rescued from the cold in November. She had been trying to survive outside an apartment complex with her five kittens, with no food, water, or shelter, just as some of the worst cold weather was beginning. Thankfully, a kind person living at the complex contacted us for help. One of our volunteers went out and rescued Crystal and all five of her babies. We knew that, from that moment on, life was going to get so much better for this sweet mama and her kittens! Once in our care, Crystal received everything she needed: good food, fresh water, warmth, safety, and lots of love. Her beautiful coat has now fully grown back after the challenges of living outside, and she has blossomed into a sweet and social girl. Crystal loves attention, toys, and, most of all, plenty of pets! She will jump down from her shelf to greet you, and once the petting begins, she often flops right over to enjoy it. She is such a sweet girl and is ready to find her forever home. Crystal would do best with a family who has plenty of love and patience to give her. She will need some time to adjust to her new surroundings and family. She would likely do best in a home without small children, and she does not particularly care for other cats. Francy came to us from our local Police Department after they picked her up from a very affluent neighborhood where we typically do not see strays. Sadly, she was reported and just not wanted by anyone in the area, even though we suspected she belonged to someone. Francy has been just so very sweet with us here at the Shelter. She has the sweetest personality and is a very gentle soul! She would be ok with another sweet cat after proper introductions. She would be a great love in your family and would definitely appreciate a safe, kind and loving home and would love to leave Shelter life. She will need time to adjust to a new home and family. He likes to play and to be held. We think it makes him feel safe! He would do well with another social and confident cat or kitten. JosieJosie - Spayed Female. Approximate DOB is 6/1/2024. Josie is current
on her vaccines and has been tested for Feline Aids (FIV) and Feline Leukemia (FELV) and is Negative. Reva is a beautiful Orange Tabby and White. Josie was brought into Love A Stray after having 7 kittens. The person who found her sadly, gave away 3 of those kittens way too soon at just 4 weeks old. But unable to find homes for the other 4 and Josie - brought them to LAS. At least they were safe and would be fed, be safe, and be socialized. Josie was a good Mama!! All of her kittens are so very sweet and social, just like she is!! Josie was so very sweet and social and happy for the attention that she was given. Once she is comfortable, she will lean and rub into your hand once you start petting her, and that’s when the purrs come out! She reaches out and touches your head as well! She doesn't seem to mind other cats - but will need a proper introduction. We do not know about dogs. Josie comes to the front of her cage space when someone approaches and we would love to help her find a safe, loving forever home after her rough start in life. SylvieSylvie - Spayed Female. Approximate DOB is 4/20/2025. Sylvie is current on her vaccines and she has been tested for Feline Aids (FIV) and Feline Leukemia (FELV) and is NEGATIVE. Sylvie is a SH Brown Tabby.
Sylvie came to Love A Stray when help was requested of us following a house fire that left the property uninhabitable for the family, but Sylvie was left behind in the remaining basement structure in a cement block room where she delivered her 5 kittens in the corner on newspapers and general refuse. LAS brought her and the babies, who were approximately 3 weeks old to the Shelter. She was so thin and needed good nutrition and general care. Sylvie and her kittens improved in a safe, clean environment. Sylvie was a good and very protective Mom! Her babies were doing well and were very confident and social! Sylvie loves her toys and attention and is a bit protective of her cage space and doesn't like it when we rearrange! She possibly would do well with another cat with proper introductions. Unknow if she is good with dogs - although, there were dogs also left on the property. Sylvie would love to have a safe, kind, loving home and to leave Shelter Life! OctaviaOctavia - Spayed Female. Approximate DOB is 1/1/2025. Octavia is current on her vaccines and she has been tested for Feline Aids (FIV) and Feline Leukemia (FELV) and is NEGATIVE. Octavia is a SH Black Tuxedo.
Octavia was rescued from a feral colony living behind an apartment complex in a local community. She was very small and often picked on by the other cats. Right after it stopped snowing one night, she came around with a limping paw and other cats actively picking on her. With a bit of coaxing, she made it into a carrier and on her way to safety at Love A Stray. Her paw pads were affected by the elements, healing once she was able to rest and be warm and in a clean environment. Her skin was affected by an unknown environmental factor, causing skin irritation and hair loss on some patches of her body. Even through all this, she was sweet as can be. She enjoyed her soothing baths twice a week and was great at taking her medication ! Today she comes to the front of her cage space and talks, telling you all about it!! Waiting for someone to come and pick her up or play. Once she is picked up, she starts to purr and loves to cuddle. She loves her toys, especially the wand toys. Octavia has never minded other cats and would likely do well with a proper introductions. Octavia would love to have a safe, kind, loving home and to leave Shelter Life! She will need time to adjust to a new home and family. She likely would not do well with small children. OmarOmar - Neutered Male. Approximate DOB is 1/1/2025. Omar is current on his vaccines and he has been tested for Feline Aids (FIV) and Feline Leukemia (FELV) and is NEGATIVE. Omar is a SH Black Tuxedo.
Omar was rescued from a feral colony living behind an apartment complex in a local community. He spent the winter outdoors, which was evident by his coat and his dried out paw pads. While he was among some feral cats, he clearly showed he was not feral. Instead of running away when someone came with food, he just sat there and waited and watched. When approached, he hunkered down but then decided to flop over and say hello! He was easily picked up and placed into a carrier and brought to Love A Stray. An unknown environmental factor caused skin irritation and hair loss on some patches of Omar’s body. He was a model patient for any and all treatments and took his medication like a champ and was so calm for his soothing baths twice a week! His hair soon began to grow back and took 2 months to do so. While he can be a bit shy at first, he really only wants love. Once he feels comfortable, he will rub his head into your hands to ask for more pets. When he is held, eventually he will relax enough to show you how well he purrs! He has never minded other cats and would likely do well with proper introductions. He would love a safe, kind, loving home and to leave Shelter Life! He will need time to adjust to a new home and family. He likely would not do well with small children. Rizzo is a SH Black and White darling !! Rizzo was the first kitten of the 2026 season at LAS. She was born at the shelter and was an only kitten to a wonderful MaMa - Renn (Who is also up for adoption!!!) She was the chubbiest baby ever - because she was an only baby! We gave her the nickname "Meatball" !!! Rizzo is a very confident, sweet, social and loving kitten - she had so much attention!! She is good with others, as long as given a proper introduction and time to get to know other cats or kittens! She is very playful and loves her toys and the people who play together with her! Grant came back to LAS after originally being adopted in 2024. It turns out that Grant just needs a quieter home and family where he can thrive and be loved! He is very friendly, sweet and social! He is doing very well socially back here at our shelter and is ready to find his new home! Perhaps an adult-only home is best for him. We think that kids are just overwhelming for him. He is a spirited guy that loves his attention! He is playful, and very loving!! He purrs in an instant, and is regaining his confidence after coming back to LAS. He comes to the front of his cage to seek attention! He would love to be an only kitty! Grant would sure love to have his very own indoor home and a lot of love and new people to call his own!! TommyTommy - Neutered Male. Approximate DOB: 12//1/2021. Tommy is current on his vaccines and has tested Positive for Feline Aids (FIV) and Negative for Feline Leukemia (FELV). He had a Dental in February due to a broken tooth and is doing great! He’s a SH haired Buff and White.
Note that FIV Positive cats can live a long and normal life indoors with regular good care by his family and a safe loving environment! Learn more about FIV here . Here’s Tommy's story as sent by his rescuer: Tommy was rescued from an area in a local community where we had done a number of both rescues and TNR of feral cats in the neighborhood months before finding Tommy. We think he wanted out of there!! It was New Years Eve and we were his New Year's Resolution!! Tommy did test FIV positive. His coat was dirty and his fur not full and soft like it is now!!! With trimming and brushing, his coat has grown back in fully and is very soft. Tommy is a busy guy and loves attention and to play. He can best be described as a wanting love and attention! He is a big guy! He is not a fan of a lot of commotion, but comes around very quickly for pets or treats. Cases like Tommy's remind us how often we’re surprised. We didn’t expect the Dental he needed to be pain-free—and we certainly didn’t expect him to become such a good boy!! But we’re all in now. He deserves a wonderful life off the streets and out of the cold. Tommy would do best in a calm home with a loving family (no really young children, please). Best with no dogs to adjust to. He will need time to adjust, but he has so much love to give. MindyLill and Mindy - Spayed Females. Approximate Date of Birth - 2/18/2022. Lill and Mindy are each current on their vaccines and each has been tested for Feline Aids (FIV) and Feline Leukemia (FELV) and are Negative.
Lill is a SH Brown Tabby. Lill, in addition, had a full Dental and multiple extractions. Her little tongue partially hangs out when she is relaxed!! Mindy is a SH Tabby and White. Lill and Mindy came in from a rescue of 4 cats and 1 Kitten from a home where it seemed they were cared about - but no vet care was provided and they were not spayed. We took all 4 cats and the kitten as the owners surrendered them. Amazingly - They are all very social and sweet! Lill and Mindy each come to the front of their shelter space for attention, pets and love!! They like to play and look forward to whoever stops at their cage space!! Lill hangs back a bit - but then warms to the attention! Mindy likely pushes herself in first! Each is available for adoption. If you are looking for more than one - they could go together! Or if you are only looking for one that is an option. Lill and Mindy were also raised with dogs and of course other cats and they would do well in a home with a cat friendly other cat, and/or a cat friendly dog. HugoHugo - Neutered Male. Approximate DOB is 6/8/2025. Hugo is current
on his Vaccines. He has been tested for Feline Aids (FIV) and Feline Leukemia (FELV) and is Negative. Hugo is a SH Brown Tabby - very handsome guy !!! In July of 2025 LAS took a call about a kitten in the street by a local restaurant in the community. As It turns out - there is never just 1 - sadly. The area is very busy and has a lot of traffic and the kittens would have faced a horrible outcome. LAS captured all of the kittens and we worked with these babies to socialize them. Hugo is one of those babies ! He is now ready for his forever home. Hugo is doing well here at the shelter and our hope is to have him go to a home and continue to have a wonderful life in a home. He is healthy, plays, jumps into our volunteers arms from his cage space and loves his pets. He has free roaming time in the shelter each day and has surprised us with his character and personality!! He keeps us laughing and love watching his antics. He is so smart!!! He has been excellent with all of the cats that reside here, even if they don't like him!! He just turns and goes the other way! He will need time to adjust to life in a home. If you are a cat savvy person and looking for a wonderful kitty - he would do well with your love, patience and time!!! Cassidy is a SH Tortie. Cassidy came to LAS with 4 siblings (3 now adopted) and her Mom - Crystal from a local apartment community where the tenants saw them and worried for their safety in late November. She is a beautiful girl !! She has come a long way on her journey from when she first arrived. She has grown socially and her personality has really blossomed! We do believe that Cassidy will need a buddy and would do best with another friendly kitten or cat to retain all of her confidence. She loves spending time with other cats and kittens when we move her around for playtime and visits!!! We think that she would do best with no small children and perhaps a family who had experience with cats or kittens. She would love a safe and kind home and to leave Shelter Life! She will need time to adjust to a new home and family. BlakeIn June of 2025 LAS took on a project on a local property in a neighborhood in a local community. We were called to the property by a family who found kittens and a Mom. All were captured and Mom and Babies came to LAS to finish Nursing and growing! Mom who is feral was to be returned to the property once she was Spayed and the family agreed to provide Food, Water and Shelter. Sadly, the family went back on this promise and we have to find a place for Mom at some point.
